Crisis Monitor

Data controller

The Crisis Monitor editorial team. For any question about your data, write to hola@globalcrisismonitors.com.

What data we process

Crisis Monitor has no user registration. The only personal data processed is:

  • IP address, for technical purposes: to serve the site, protect it against abuse and limit the number of requests for data. For that limit, only an encrypted summary (hash) of the IP is kept for a few minutes.
  • Server logs kept by the hosting provider (IP, date, page visited and browser), for security and maintenance purposes.
  • Your email address, if you sign up for alerts, to send you an email when the risk level changes and a monthly summary. We do not use it for anything else. To prevent abuse of the form, an encrypted summary (hash) of the address and the IP is kept for two days.
  • Your email details if you write to us, only to reply to you.

Legal basis and retention

Legitimate interest in offering a secure service that works (Article 6.1.f of the GDPR) and, if you sign up for alerts or write to us, your consent (Article 6.1.a). Technical logs are kept for the time strictly necessary; emails, for as long as needed to handle your inquiry; and your address for alerts, until you unsubscribe. You can do so at any time with the link at the bottom of every email.

Recipients

We do not share data with third parties except where required by law. The hosting provider acts as a data processor. Email alerts are sent through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France), which stores the subscriber list as a data processor within the European Union. If you accept analytics cookies, Google (Google Analytics) will process data about your visit as explained in the cookie policy; the same will apply to advertising if it is switched on, always with your consent.

Your rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability by writing to hola@globalcrisismonitors.com. If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
