Crisis Monitor
Does Crisis Monitor use cookies?
The site does not set its own cookies. It only uses third-party analytics cookies (Google Analytics), and only if you accept them in the notice shown on your first visit. If you decline, no Google tool is loaded and the site works just the same.
Web analytics (Google Analytics)
With your permission, we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) to see, in aggregate, which pages are visited, from which countries and on which devices, so we can improve the content. We do not use this data for advertising or combine it with your email address.
_ga: tells visitors apart. Lasts 2 years._ga_ZSRMXY41YJ: keeps the session state. Lasts 2 years.
Google may process this data on servers outside the European Union, such as in the US. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6.1.a GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time with the button below or with the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of every page. When you withdraw it, the analytics cookies are deleted.
What does it store in your browser?
To remember your preferences, the site stores the following in your browser’s local storage (localStorage), without sending it to any server:
crisis_monitor_theme: whether you prefer light or dark mode.crisis_monitor_sound: whether you have turned on alert sounds.crisis_monitor_last_live: the last index reading, to show while the data loads.crisis_monitor_checklist: the boxes you tick in the crisis plan.crisis_monitor_consent: your choice about analytics cookies.
These are technical items needed for functions you request, so they do not require consent. You can delete them from your browser settings.
What if there is advertising?
If Google AdSense advertising is enabled in the future, Google and its partners may use cookies to show and measure ads. You will first be shown a notice to accept or reject those cookies, and you will be able to change your choice at any time. This policy will be updated with the specific list.
